Chess Game, 2004
Charcoal on paper.
18″ x 18″
The body of charcoal drawings exhibited in Layered Alignments: Lost, Found & Filtered in 2008 is abstract at first glance. Images, impressions and memories taken from the day’s uncertainty and chaos are given context on paper. Images develop; actually clustered and reassembled, these images and edges of experience are edited to a greater subtlety. A perceptual shift occurs in metaphor and symbol with the alignment.
